Whereas the Korea Times has their own CMS running behind the scenes which takes care of articles appearing at the right places in their website, we have to set up our own system. As you know, I suggested WordPress at least to start with. It’s usually used by bloggers and not by large news sites, but there are ways to adapt WordPress to publish a more traditional news site. News sites which successfully use WordPress include the Express & Star, the Shropshire Star, and the travel site Cebu Living.
Just so you know, I’m rather new to WordPress myself so I’m going to be learning the technical side of this as we go. When it comes to the design of the site, there are many ways to go about it. We can use a standard layout (such as this one) use one of the many free templates that are out there (such as the following from Justin Tadlock: Newspaperize, Structure, and Visionary) or buy a template such as the Revolution theme.
